Performing Arts Consultant, Jarrod Lee, hails from AL and presently resides in MD. His active career as an opera singer and librettist highly influences Lee’s experience in Project Management and strategic planning. Lee’s expertise in artist mentorship, educational programming, infrastructural management, and community engagement have enabled him to create impactful initiatives with the Coalition for African Americans in the Performing Arts as a Project Manager and later the Director of Projects (2018 – 2025), Finger Lakes Opera as their Community Engagement Consultant (2024), Maryland Opera as the Director of Education (2023-2024) and now as the Director of New Voices in Opera which offers additional performances after the premiere of new operas. A highly sought-after Motivational Speaker and Masterclass Clinician, past engagements included Jackson State University where he worked with the voice and creative writing students using the music and libretto of Oshun and Kandake as study material. Other past engagements include the Director of Project Management with the Coalition for African Americans in the Performing Arts (CAAPA), guest speaker and facilitator for Industry Days with the Denyce Graves Foundation, consulting student writers as part of the Etude program with the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University, craft talk with the Finger Lakes Opera Young Artist Program, voice masterclasses with students of Maryland Opera’s Summer Camp, and working with voice masterclasses and craft talks with University of Maryland and the university’s Maryland Opera Studio.
